Born and raised in Oshawa, Stephan Balas now resides in Brooklin with his wife Jill and daughters Claire and Aleah.

He has recently retired from the Oshawa Fire Department after 30 years of service as a firefighter.

Stephen was also active in the hockey community and began his hockey career in the Oshawa Minor Hockey Association and concluded at the University of Waterloo. Stephen was honoured to be inducted into the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame due to the team's successes.

Stephen is a certified Level V Golf Instructor and a Class A CPGA professional with over twenty years experience.

Stephen is very excited to join the team at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club as an Associate Professional. When you see Stephen please introduce yourself and wish him a warm welcome to the club.

Michel Sonnenburg is a PGA of Canada member and achieved his Class ‘A’ status in 2016. In 2015 he earned his Bachelor of Business Golf Management degree from Georgian College where he was a member of the men’s intercollegiate golf team. Michel served as an apprentice professional at both Cedar Brae Golf Club and The National Golf Club of Canada.  Over the past 5 years he has worked as a Golf Coach at the Henry Brunton Golf Academy (Eagles Nest Golf Club) where he lead the Strive for Excellence Junior Program and helped his students achieve provincial titles.
